What We've Been Doing Lately!!!
A lot has been going on in our house. With the holidays behind us, we had another month of duck season. And boy it was busy. We had new groups coming in every 3 days along with several guides that stayed pretty much to whole season. We ate a lot of chili and John Grisham Catfish-all of which i don't want for a while. Duck Season was good-cold but good. Rocky and the guides did a great job of finding the ducks and just about every group killed a lot of ducks. When it was iced up, it was a struggle and i was worried about about the guides and especially the dogs going out on the ice but everyone came through and killed some ducks. Kitt had a great year although at five and a half, she is getting tired and sleeps all day after a hunt. Spoonbill is doing much better and is going to be a great hunting dog. Both Kitt and Spoonbill's puppies are doing great. We still have one of Spoonbill's pups-aka Pot Hole-(rocky named him from the infamous commercial about the talking pot hole). He's a beautiful black male that gets his good looks from his dad Joker. He sleeps in the bed with us almost every night along with Kitt and Bud Bud, the yellow cat. I would have some pictures to post, however, Pot Hole chewed up our camera cord and I haven't been able to download any in a while.
Anyway, Baby Leflore is progressing wonderfully. I am growing and gaining weight and we area having tons of movement along with kicks, nudges and hiccups. Sleeping is hard, need lots of pillows and would love the Boppy tummy pillow, but Rocky says the other pillows will have to do although he gets mad about my baracade of pillows. I have gained all of the weight that i lost back along with about 4 pounds. I got my RhoGam shot at my last appointment and now i will start going every 2 weeks. I'm getting excited. Not vomiting everyday makes things nice although i have been getting really tired and know that God is preparing my body for the new little one. We still aren't finding out what we are having. We (both Rocky and I) are quite content with not finding out what we are having although everyone else is getting on our nerves when they are mad about us not finding out. It is surprising how many people though are super excited about our little surprise. I am feeling some of the pregnancy complications-i am clumsy, i find myself falling over a bit and tripping a lot. I also feel like i am going to tip over at certain times. I am also stupid-i forget the simpliest things and feel like my brain is just mush-i can't remember the simplest things and am so embarrased that I am going to do something so stupid. Any how, we have 9 weeks left to go. Rocky is getting anxious-he's really worried that i am going to go into labor and we aren't going to make it to Jackson. That's not what i'm worried about. i'm more worried about paying the hospital and getting the baby out. We've paid our doctor hopefully all the money we owe him and the clinic, i am just worried about that. Not so much worried about the labor and pain, just the money aspect. And we have insurance. I'm not really sure about the rest-but will keep you infomed about whats going on with us.
Baby Leflores room-well, we haven't really started on it either. I know, I know. We better start on it and should be finished by now, but we just haven't had time. I'm not going to paint it. The room Rocky wants to put "it" in was just painted a little over a year ago and i don't want to paint it and i would'nt know what color to paint it either. But i have bought an antique sideboard that is made of recycled woods. It has a black/expresso and wood finish. I love it. Has good drawers and big cabinets-lots of storage. Something that is rare around my house. No bed, but we do have a changing table/dresser/storage area. I have found a chair that i love-just love-the Best Chair series-Storytime-that chair that Rocky and I both like is the Braxton. It is the most comfortable, swivel, rocker that i have ever sat in. If you start sitting in other chairs, you can tell the difference. Since Rocky and I are much bigger than normal people, it really makes a difference such as head room, chair width, etc. I hope we can get the chair and ottoman-it will be a huge splurge but i think that it will be well worth the investment.
So I'm sure lots of you-if there are any you's out there that do ready my blog-i'm sure you are wondering about my new vet clinic. I purchased Simmons Veterinary Clinic in Greenville, MS on December 18, 2009. It was quite an exciting time and i'm really enjoying being my own boss. Its a great practice and the clients are great. I have a wonderful licensed veterinary technician that is just great-i don't know what i would do without her and the lady that i purchased the practice from is amazing. She is so smart and super sharp. Rocky has started going to work with me and its really nice to have him there. He has a lot to learn about the computer and a veterinary practice but he is pretty smart himself and can do whatever he puts his mind to. Some of the four-legged kiddo's go with us to and they seem to enjoy it to. We have a really nice, spacious office in the back that has a full bathroom and we've purchased a sofa-sleeper in case we want to stay in greenville. Of course, Rocky had to have a tv and we have a kitchenette too. I can't wait to be able to take a nap or put my feet up during lunch-it will be so wonderful.
When i do get a camera cord, i will have a lot of pictures to upload.
I'll keep posting about all of the other exciting things that have been going on. We've been so busy-i haven't eaten a meal at home in over a week.
Happy Blogging and Happy Valentines day and President's Day to those who will be off.

so glad you posted!!! i keep checking to see!
i'm glad you're not finding out the sex of the baby - we didn't and it was hands down one of the best decisions ever. yes, we got the rude comments from everybody.
oh - one patient told me, "do you know how RUDE that is? to not find out what you are having? what are people going to get you for gifts???". i (kinda) politely told her that "unless they are paying for this child, it's nobody's business. and as far as gifts, they can get/have gotten the essentials - diapers, wipes, sheets, bottles, etc., etc. also, when YOU were having children, you didn't have the option to find out the sex!"
yes, this was coming from a 70+ year old woman...
ok - on to something else....congrats on the vet cliic!!!!!!! how exciting!!!!!!!!!
you or rocky please text me when you go into labor/are headed down here to have the baby! i would love to come see you if you don't care!!
