Catfish Festival

I am having to go back and catch up some of this blogging. So bear with me as I go through some of the old post I started and I am just now getting back to. The Catfish Festival is a festival in Belzoni, Ms celebrating the production of catfish, and is a annual get together for each family in the Roy Long Family. Each year in the past we have usually been cooking and selling to visitors to the annual event, but this year being that Roy and Patti don't have the store anymore, made it a little easier for everyone to enjoy the festival. The unique thing also about this year was Kelsey the youngest sister in the family ran for Catfish Queen.

Royann, Ann Fleming and I attended the Queen party at Wister Gardens. Here are some pics from the Friday night party:

 The next morning we all decided to walk in the 5k except Dennis, he ran the 5k.

We all won our respected divisions. I am here with Ann Fleming with my trophy.

 Then there was the queen contest later on in the morning. Kelsey won the contest and we were all so proud of her. She has now one up'ed Royann and Ashley in another record. Her goal has always to one up Royann and Ashley and all of their records they set years ago.

It was a great weekend to share with family and friends. We were all so proud of Kelsey.
